oh man so much to say about this one. I never would have expected myself to become a bboy or tricker or dancer. before I started to dance, I was really shy and I never would have had the balls to perform in front of others. bboying taught me how to be more confident in myself by executing movements that are only possible because I can trust my own body and mind. before I was afraid to even give a presentation to a class, and here I am now doing flips and dancing my heart out inside circles at dances. it really is a dramatic change, now that I think about it. before I used to be a huge pussy and was always afraid of getting hurt. NOW I’M A TANNKKK. well not really. but I learned to suck it up and accept injuries as a part of bboying. my entire body’s covered in bruises and burns and whatnot, but I’m proud of it cuz they reflect the effort I went through to get certain moves down. windmills gave me burns all over my arms. airbaby tore through my skin numerous times. and backflips gave me near-death experiences on a daily basis. but now, all of these moves are part of me that I can execute at will. kay I think I’m done now. I could seriously talk about bboying all day. as weird as it may seem, I’ve grown to love it that much.
